    Hello Trent,

I had reproduced a 10.000TEU Container Vessel Hull.
I bought DelftShip Pro for that task, because the auto fairing tool is sometimes very helpful.

At First i loaded a digital lines plan with the “Import Markers” tool.
Than moved all markes to their corresponding position.

It was helpful for me to use an nearly similar hull from the delftship download section.
Scale it to your values and then begin moving points.

Use the same count of control points for each control line of your surface!

I tried many different CAD programms for reproducing hulls. I think delftship is the best one and the professional version has got a very fair price

which software did you used for 3D modeling and rendering ?

    edit:
I tried your file, but it is invalid

I am also very interested in simple frame editing.
Just creating sections is not enough for this aim, but i think it is a simple development to provide an offset length to each section and to generate a frame surface through the offset line.

How about that? Perhaps just for pro-version ?

And is there a developing plan for a next release ? New features and so on ?

    Best regards,

    Soeren

    very good job!
do you know the lightweight of your boat ?
have you measure the max speed ?

And i would also be interested in your building technique.
It looks like GFK? But i think not suitable for negative forming .. do you build a positive form before ? And of which material ?

    Thanks for sharing !

    Best regards,

Your midship location is placed at 8,544 ft.
the biggest section area seems to be at 3-4 ft (section area curve)
    thats why it is bigger.

I guess your midship location has to be set up to the highest point of the area curve (3-4ft). Than the CP should be correct.

I got several problems with arcs and radiuses, too.

For example: How to create a round propeller shaft (the half shaft)

and how to create an exact bilge radius ?

For now i guess that delftship is not able to handle them. But i would like to get corrected …

    (perhaps a future development ?? )
