    Hi Trangtun

I am not importing offset tables, I am importing chines, learned how to do from the manual examples

I am sure have explanation in the manual how to import offset tables. You need to follow the examples step by step carefully.

    Hi Joe

What I am doing/have done is making first a basic one chine design in a CAD program and importing the xyz to Delft Ship.

Second stage I am checking the model for leek points and stress on the panels.

Then I am adding chines and going to make round shapes if necessary.

Ones I have a model that I am happy with it I am generating and analyzing the reports. If everything as I want and I want a bigger or smaller boat just scaling it. You can scale up/down in xyz, or just one or 2 dimentions.

    Hope it helps

    Hi Riccardose

You can export the Lines Plan in .dxf to almost any CAD program, ready 2D drawings.

    Hi John

I am working with nano CAD right now, worked with Draft Site (when the 2D was free) and AutoCAD before.

Never had the problem you mentioned.

Maybe something in the setting of TurboCad?

    Hi Hans

Sorry, I am living in Bali so I can’t help you personally except if you will come to Bali after the corona will end.

But my advice is to go with the manual step by step, ask on the forum any question you wish and you will get there. I am also “senior”, over 72, if you work with a 2D cad program, will not be too difficult.

The DELFTSHIP have also some example, maybe you can use one of them.

You may also give some more details what kind of boat is in your mind so somebody may help you

    Hi Riccardose

In tools, you click on the “Lines Plan” icon then click on the File/Save icon and a small window will pop-up asking “Do you want to export the geometry in millimeters?”

Click yes, you will get the .dxf file and save it where you wish.

So the answer to your question is: the .dxf is in millimeters

Be aware that the Hydrostatics and Design hydrostatics are in meters

    Hi Fernando

I know is one month late, better latter than never

I don’t have any problem doing it.

First, I am opening the drawing in a 2D CAD program

In your file printing page, you can scale the drawing to see what you want.

I click on “Print Preview”, if it is what I want, click print

The point is that with planking of plywood between 4 to 12 mm the boat size and the displacement changes are very small. I am taking in consideration the planking addition is size when I am making the preliminary design.

My designs are between 2.3 meter and 8.5 meter on deck. I am not planning anything bigger in the near or far future ๐Ÿ˜€

I would like also to know how to do that, but I am using the frames of my small bats as is while adding the planks thickness. The hydrostatics are given with the skin.

    Hi Maarten

The manual was 1130_316_mc0 (not _mc8)

I would like to download the manual 1130_316_mc1 but I didn’t find a link.

Can you provide a link please?

    Hi Hans

I can’t help you in the way you wish as I am living in Bali, but I can propose you to download the DelftShip manual and start slowly step by step.

I think most of the forum members with the free or professional version done it the same.

I am sure that if you will post specific questions you will get answers for them.

DelftShip learning is not so complicate and if you start step by step using the manual you will have good progressย  in my opinion. You can do that until you find someone close to you and have the time to teach you.
