yes, that’s exactly what I am doing currently – cutting half in the SketchUP which I use for 3D visualisation.

    Hi Terrance,

Thanks a lot for your very detailed explanation. It is indeed very difficult to create a smooth tangent. Following your instructions, I did make a smooth surface of entire deck.

But now, an inverse question arises… Can you divide this smooth (non-symmetric) surface into two halves in such a way that the tangents stay smooth?
(in my case it is desirable to be able to use both half-models and full ones)

    Many thanks once again,
    and best regards,

    Dear Maarten,

Thanks for the explanation, it worked nicely! =)

However, I am having another difficulty now. Sometimes (even in a completely new empty project) the Edit button for the background images is grey and I cannot add anything. Any idea why can it be happening please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Dear Maarten,

Thanks a lot for the video.

Can you please advise me if there a rule how the DELFT interpret the size of the background images?
I mean, can I predict how large will appear an image say, 1200*600 pixels

The problem is that the method that you suggest of scaling is good if you already have the hull in the model, and then you can scale the image to fit it. However, it is not my case =(

    Many thanks in advance,
