I am not sure what you mean – what measurements don’t match what other measurements?

What does “measure length based on buttocks” mean?

Did you mistype a number in your description above?

When you export a model to DXF, it is exported as three separate files. one contains the waterlines, one the buttocks and one the stations. I measured LOA between perpendiculars and got a different value when I measured from the buttocks (side view) than when I measured the waterlines (top view). Not only do they differ from each other (they absolutely shouldn’t) but they also don’t match the actual LOA or the actual length between perpendiculars as measured in DelftShip. I’d like to know the reason for the discrepancy.

    No. No mistypes.

I create the transom by creating a new face. First make sure your boat is the way you like it. Model the stern so that it looks nice in profile view, ten model it so that it looks nice in the body plan. You now have a big hole in the stern, the hole is the part that should look nice. Then you ctrl-select the points on the edges around the hole. It’s important that you select them in order, like when you were a child and drew lines through points in a book to make a figure. Then you create a new face from the points. The new face will fit nicely on the side but you have one edge that will most likely run diagonal. You need to split this edge and adjust the new point to fit. You will also have to turn some points into corner points depending on how you want the transom to look.

Thank you for the replies. I found a way of doing it in Delftship. Probably not as accurate as exporting the stations though. I add a number of new points and put them carefully on a station. Then I create a face using the new points. The new side of the face has to be split a number of times. Then adjust the new points to fit, select all the edges of the new face and extrude curve as much as is needed to acheive the correct dimension of the frame. Seems to work quite well.
