      Please Help!

I designed a model boat hull (4 feet long) that I want to have cnc cut from aluminum. All of the layers unfold appropriatly and the dimensions and markers all look right. When I export the visible plates as a .dxf file it is getting scaled down dramatically. Does the zoom factor affect the output size? What else would cause this?

I just purchased this program a week or so ago and I love it, but if I cant get an accurate .dxf to send to my fabricator it’s of no use. Help!

      thanks!

What do you mean by “scaled down”?
The plate developments are exported in the same units and size as your model.

Can you perhaps send your delftship file and plate developments to me by email?

I’ve taken a look at your model.
Your boat is exactly 4 ft long in Delftship.
So are the plate developments if you look at them in the plate developments window. The deck measures exactly 4 feet from stern to bow.
When exported to DXF to dimensions are still exactly the same (and they should, the plate developments use the same dimesnions as your model). The zoom factor has nothing to do with it. So this seems to all work properly.

Which makes me wonder: How did you measure the length of your plate developments from the dxf file. Did you perhaps use a CAD program which assumes inches as input instead of the feet used by delftship?
