ParticipantHiya,
I have recently made a hull in Delftship, but the bow seems to be super sharp and not like the boat im trying to re create.
I wondered how I make the bow “blunter” within Delftship?
Cheers,

ParticipantTry changing the bow from a crease edge (Knuckle Line )to a Normal edge by using the crease edge button on the tool bar.

ParticipantOn the port side of the vessel place control points just off your hull centre line say about 5cm or so, from top of bow to bottom of stem, once you have your contol points place a thin gray line through them, the centre line will be red, leave the gray line, gray and it will appear rounded while red lines have a crease, just keep fiddling around until your happy with it, if you want it to be sharper made the C/line and the gray one closer if you want the bow to be blunter make the lines further apart.

ParticipantHi,
Thanks for your reply, i’ll have a play with it later on.
Is there any option when you upload it to a hosting site? Or maybe try re sizing it in paint 🙂
Cheers,

KeymasterUse Paint shop pro, photoshop, or any other program to resize your images.
For example: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/jpg-resize-free.html

ParticipantNow that little gray line actually extends all the way along the keel right to the bottom of the stem but you cant see it just after the bow because its control points are under the centreline control points.

After looking at my bow and bottom (hull bottom) I made some improvements. This pic should make it clearer, imagine your a fish looking up at the bottom of the hull towards the bow.

ParticipantSA,
don’t loose heart, I understand exactly how you feel
at the beginning it is difficult, but once you understand some of the basic rules of Delftship you will be amazed how simple it is. Each time you have a problem or there is something you dont understand email me on http://www.mike101@aanet.com.au -
