ParticipantIt’s one of a few complaints I must submit: about “rotate” function in >>tools<<. With new versions the dialog box has become the same as >>Create solid<< et al. No problem, I thought, just assign the axis... Tsk, tsk... there is a bug: either some cut in the algorithm or a shortcut somewhere now rotation seems to be allowed on two axis only, at randome, changing by the wiew or else. Not a big trouble, it can be accomplished with more tweaking but it takes time; I understand that old features can NOT be all implemented , anyway the last dialog box was simple and straigthforward. Maybe it's a question of misundertanding but I tested it a lot.. no use. An answer by the local Pundits would be welcome. To sweeten the pill...here's a gift: I've stumped on it by accident and was astonished by her extreme tumblehome design, not to mention "a Steam Torpedo Ram" as it was depicted: true there were times of confusion and uncertainety about naval warfare in all. Anyway, pure STEAMPUNK, and some big problems to solve on hull's DS drawing. Thanks in advance, Regards. Jurgen.

ParticipantI agree Jurgen tis extremely confusing and one can only hope that like the rest of the world, Delftship reverts to rotating by degrees, or even radians at a pinch.

KeymasterDear Jurgen/Maryak,
In version 8 the rotation feature has changed. Instead of rotating around the origin, you can now rotate around an arbitrary axis. You just need to specify the start point and end point of the axis you want to rotate around, and of course the rotation (in degrees). This is much more flexible then the old way.
Having said that, there is indeed a bug which seems to prevent rotation around the x-axis. This has been fixed and will be released with the next update which is scheduled the end of this month.

ParticipantBeauty!
Do not bother too much, it’s a price you must pay for a work in progress and I’m not flattering!
