      HI,

I designed a modelsailboat and want to print the intersections full scale, does anybody know how to do that.
As read in various posts I reckon deduction of the hull thickness is still not possible?

      Regards,

      Bram

      Dear Bram,

A ship model is always made “moulded”, which means no skin thickness is included in the model design. For hydrostatic purposes each layer can be assigned and thickness, or an correction factor is applied.

To print your sections, add the intersections at the right place, create a linesplan, export the lines plan to a CAD program, scale and prepare the drawing printing

Go to the Fil > Export menu and export the stations as 2D DXF polylines.
You can import these into any 2D cad program and use an offset command to reduce the station in order to compensate for the shell thickness.

Autocad 2009 should open the dxf files without any problem.

When I export it it shows strange looking hooked shapes when I open it in autocad

Can you tell us what settings you have used for creating the 2D DXF files from delftship?
