      Hello.

I’m new to this Forum. I would like to 3d model some historical ships like “Barc”, “Galeon” and “Liner”.
I could not find any hulls for these ships in the database.
Does anybody has already done this with delftship or other software and could provide me with these models to have a starting point?

      Any help is much appreciated.

      Best Regards
      Guido

The Greenwich Maritime Museum is a good starting point.

I quickly draw a hull for you can play with it like with plasticine.
Once you’ll be started, don’t forget to read the manual, then, with time, you’ll be able to do better than me.

Since I had no model, just my memory, I did it in more or less one hour (I had to stumble around for the detailed bow).
I began by the transom (drawn verticaly, then tilted by 5 or 10°).
I extruded it forward and closed bow.
I removed part of the skin to separed the foredeck and the aftdeck, creted the decks themselves.
… and stumbled arond for a while before I got a decent bow design.

You can find more models in our discussions, using the forum’s SEARCH button and searching for all the topics, whatever the date can be.

      Hi
I’m in a similar situation. I have a customer who plans to build a replica of an old caravel or galeon with a lenght of about 15 meters. Does somebody now an experienced designer/naval architect that has created already designs or even plan drawings for such a ship? My customer wants to build with modern wooden boat building methods.
      Any help is highly appreciated.
