ParticipantKeel and rudders wizard.
Have possibility of choosing different wing section for Root chord length and Tip chord length? If not, it will be a useful feature.
Ones I have added keel to the design (or deck for example) how can I remove it?

ParticipantFirst question: I don’t understand… Are you talking about section or chord length?
Second question:  What a question! If you have just added it, undo the latest operation. Otherwise, select the ship part to be removed and delete it (you can toggle the other layers’ display off, in order to help you select the parts to be removed).

ParticipantIn the Wing section window can chose between three four digit and more 6 digits NACA profiles.
My question is:
Can I choose different profiles for the Root chord and Tip chord? Not talking about chord length.
For example NACA 0015 for the root chord and NACA 0010 for the tip chord.
I would like to ask also if can add more profiles to the Wing section window, sections like more NACA, Eppler or Wortmann?Second question:
Thank you for the tip. Where is the delete button?Iosif

ParticipantWhere is the delete button, on your keyboard or make sure your keel has its own layer and highlight it in the layer properties and then press the delete key or just hide it. Ive never been able to mate say a 0010 root with a 0015 tip. You can add two 0015 together. just make the top keel tip and the top root of the bottom keel the same length. Theres quiet a bit of fiddling around to get your leading edges straight.

ParticipantMike, thank you for the answer.
I am working many years with AutoCad, but new to DELFTship so it will take time to learn all the features.
I succeed to hide the keel but don’t know yet how to highlight it and delete.
Regarding root and tip chord, I mean it will be a useful feature to have in the keel and rudder wizard two windows for Wing section, one for root and one for tip.
I have built a few wings for models and small aircrafts. The advantage of having a thinner wing tip is the reduced drag of the wing. You are losing lift, but reducing drag of the wing tip has many advantages.
In a keel it will reduce the drag also and will be still enough strong to attach a bulb with most of the ballast weight concentrated there.Iosif

ParticipantWell autocad will come in handy if you want to build your model, there are serveral ways to delete, one is through the layer properties menu just click on the name of your layer and press delete or you can move your keel away from your model or hide everything else ( just to make it easy especially if your keel is sticking through your hull) then press and hold down the Control key (keyboard) then draw a square by holding down your left mouse button around your keel, this will highlight it then press delete on your keyboard. Delftship was originally designed for merchant shipping so you might have to buy speciallised software for complex keel designs or you can buy Abbott & Doenhoffs book on Theory of Wing Sections with all the measurements to create your own in Autocad and transfer to Delftship.
