ParticipantHello all,
Came across Delftship while looking for some 3D ship modelling software for a project I would like to have a go at. Most of my modelling skills are from building to supplied plans and I have never really considered creating my own plans and building from there.
While browsing around I came across, what I consider to be, a most beautiful, futuristic and menacing warship model that has wetted my appetite to give it a go. Unfortunately I have not been able to locate any line/general plans of the ship with the exception of the one I have linked.
Is it possible to create a hull profile with this limited amount of information?
Much appreciate any suggestions.
Regards
Falthom

ParticipantYes it’s possible but without a “proper” bodyplan and some idea of displacement it would only be a good guess.

ParticipantHi Maryak,
Thanks for your reply. At this time I think a ‘good guess’ is about as close as I am going to get. Although I am making some inquiries through a Russian modelling company based in St Petersburg.
In the meantime, I have managed to find a larger and cleaner image of the one that I linked. I will get that one increased in size to get it closer to the 1/72 scale I am considering modelling it to. Hopefully that will give me a chance of ‘bettering the guess’ of the station lines I will need.
Perhaps I could pick your brain when I try to model it in Delftship – which is something I have never attempted before.

Falthom

ParticipantHi Falthom,
I and I’m sure others, will be more than happy to help where we can.
As a matter of interest my wife is Russian and if you are having problems communicating with St Petersburg we may be able to help.
