I would like to know more about the interogate surfaces command. I was unable to locate information about it in the user’s manual. When do you use it, what does it do, and how do you use it (what values are entered into the blanks in the dialog box)?

      Me three.

I’ve noticed that it is undoable. I think it’s part of any or of some commands that calculate the surface, but I could be mistaken. When a change is undone, that’s when I see the “interrogate surface” line in the Undo list or menu item.

It’s used to determine the intersection of a line between through two specified points, and the hull surface. I use it for example to calculatethe point where a sounding pipe of a tank intersects the (curved) deck. The specified offset is added to the intersection point. So if you specify a z-offset the result is the sounding pipe opening of a tank.

Thank you Marvin. Iknew it had to do something good. You are awesome! I am cataloging every thing I’m learning about delftship, and if you want me to would like to post a “Delftship for Dummies (like me)” manual once I feel I have reached the suitable level of proficiency. Eric

I think that would be a great idea!
