I need to insert inclined frames in the fore and aft peak region (making wooden ship model). Is it possible to do this with Delftship free version?

      Thank you for any help!

      Kind regards, Hrvoje

I would like to insert frames like on this drawing (starboard side)

Still can’t insert the inclined vertical plane and obtain the contour of the frame.

      Kind regards, Hrvoje

      Hi Dida
Have you tried creating a bulkhead and then moving it to the angled position that you want. if you make the model transparent you can soon see if the bulkhead protrudes through the hull or if it shy of the hull skin. I have done this it is fiddley but it does work.

      Hi, Hewitt!
No, I did not try this method. I have DELFTship Free and can’t find, in the menu, where is the option for work with bulkheads. Also, I can’t find the same thing in the manual .
      Thank you for the answer.

      Kind regards, Hrvoje

Send me a pm with your email and I will send you the basic part that I use to create bulkheads. It is just a triangular vertical surface ( you can move the points into any plane that you want ) you can add as many points around the triangle and move them to make it the shape that you want to fit your hull profile. Also what is the size of your Deftship model and I will try and make it about the right size.

I was referring to post #2345.
the video can be found in the video section. At the moment it’s the only vifeo, the idea is to upload more.
Perhaps you guys have suggestions on what you would like to see demonstrated….

Hi Marven! Can you make a video “How to make inclined frames” (not 90 deg. to longitudinal plane)?

      Kind regards, Hrvoje

To make drawings of construction I use CAD program. It is possible to import/open DXF files made in DelftShip into the CAD program.

It is possible to draw inclined frame following Marven’s instructions given in video “Modelling a curved transom”. It is, actually, inclined bulkhead.
Instead cylinder a box has been added.
On the picture “Vjezba.jpg” is bulkhead. It is possible to see, on the lower part, grey shadow. At the moment I can’t get rid of it. It must be something with surface defined with 3 points instead 4.
Also, I have leak points on the bulkhead edge which is in contact with hull. I don’t need these leak points.

      Kind regards, Hrvoje

      Hi to you all.
I would much appreciate your kind help if you would share the “triangular technique” for bulkhead’s placement. So far I’ve used one face of an added box. How dos that sound? Am I on the right track?
      Regards
