ParticipantI have a little proble.
I’ve imported an iges surface (half hull) in delftship. Now i’d like to do hydrostatics calculation but i can’t. In fact when i try to do hydrostatics calculation i have the standard page with only one draught (0.000 m) and not the all draught that i wanted (for example from 0.000 m to 5.000 m with a draught step of 0.1 m). I don’t know why. 👿Thanks for the helps!!

ParticipantWhen you render the image appears both side of the vessel?, if so check is there is point that is leaking, because the Hydrostatics will calculate but just untill the “water” reaches a leaking point.
Hope this helps

ParticipantMay be there are some leak points… i don’t know the exactly way to show them (sorry but i’m not very able with this program  ).
Also i don’t know how to change this leak ponits in normal points…
I think it would be better if i can select all the ship and chang all the points (included the leak point) in normal point…. but i’m not able to do this!! 🙁 -

ParticipantWell there is and Icon that allow you to show just the leaking points of the vessel, check in the icons, just put the pointer on the each icon without clicking and a message will appear showing you what’s the icon for, you can also read the manual for a better reference, you can access to the manual in your help menu
Hope this helps

ParticipantWell by definition a Leak point is a point that is not closed to the “water”, so there is a small segment of the hull that is not watertight, or in other words there are small segments of the hull tha has not a “face”, so you have to inspect this leaking point visually to determine which areas don’t have a “face”.
Now regarding IGES i prefer import IGES but as markers, it will show the hull with red lines (there are not yet faces stablished) and select6 the markers by clicking on them with the mouse, and click the icon that says “extract points from selected markers”, this will insert points that follow the trayectory of the markers, then just create faces following this points and bingo you will have the hull shape.
Hope this helps

ParticipantNow i understand about leak points.
About IGES i know the procedure to import an IGES as a markers but i have a problem with this: if import the IGES as a markers i can see only the skeg of my ship but, if i open the IGES file with a CAD software (for example rhinoceros 4.0) i can see the entire ship. I fon’t know why.
I don’t know what to do now… -

ParticipantMaybe if I take a look at your file, can you send me the IGES file to cruzmayora@hotmail.com I can check it and see what´s the problem.
Because other way i don´t know what else to tell you
Cheers

KeymasterPerhaps the curves haven’t been saved as entity 126 (which is a NURB curve).
