      Dear friends of DS,

How do I enter a line drawing (Dutch: Lijnenplan) which is in the .jpg format into DS which requires a .dbi format of the drawing?

      Thanks for your help!

      1. In the (profil-, plan- or bodyplan-) wiew of windows of Delftship right click to sub windows (see …1.jpg).
      2. Click to Background image (see …2.jpg).
      3. Click to Load (see …3.jpg).
      4. Select the your file (jpg, jpeg or bmp) and load it.

The DS can’t to use the loaded image as line drawing only as background image!

Thank you very much for your kind and complete answer, but ….. I had just read the same procedure in another part of the forum, but … when I right-click on e.g. the side view NOTHING happens …… . I do have the free vesion, maybe that is a limitation?

      Regards,

      JK

I have also the free version, no have is limitation. The right-click is working, see the …1.jpg!! Before must to load any (new) ..fbm, with your data of model !! and try again. The process of background image may be in the subwindows.

      Regards: PM

      Dear PM,

Thanks again for your answer and especially for sending me the Newmodel.fbm! Now I can at least proceed!

The procedure is quite clear, but I can’t get it to work, even with a new model. May be I have another parameter wrongly set or so.

Thanks again. I’ll inform you when the end result is there.

      Dear PM,

I found the “problem”! Working on a Mac, I installed a virtual machine (Parallels) which emulates the Microsoft environment: you can load any MS program, such as IE, etc. And also DELFTship, but ……. apparently Parallels is not perfect because, as I now noticed, some(?) of the DS features simply do not respond, such as for instance the Load BI!
And shifting the origin of the BI does not work either….

Solution: Starting up my real Windows laptop, loading DS, etc., I can now (of course) execute the LOAD BI, etc.

So although I am a big fan of the Mac, it seems that Parallels is not able to really and truly “simulate” the Windows environment. So I now still have two displays on my desk…..

Once again, thanks a lot for your help.
