KeymasterSee the download menu on top of the page. The tutorials section has a tutorial that shows how to reproduce an existing linesplan.

KeymasterThe only thing you have is the profile view. The rest would be guesswork……

ParticipantWell… there are plenty of photographs on the web… If you tell me the differents type of views (profile…) wich are necessary, I can have it!!
But, is it possible to do it? -

KeymasterSure. I’ve created far more complex vessels than this one. The only difficulty (or problem) is you can’t be sure how much it resembles the original, since the only thing you have got is photo’s.

ParticipantTCD,
Marven has left the building but he will drop in from time to time. Sorry but Freeship isn’t supported here,
but I’ll give you some clues, you have to extrude a deck and transom, this can be done in 2 parts or you can extrude in one go see 9.5.1 of the delft manual, they work the same I think, once you have your deck, look apon it as a sheet and you raise and lower it by the contol points, you can add more control points and edges as long as they dont cross over. Yahoo have a Freeship user group you could search for them if you need more help.
Best of luck -

ParticipantHi TCD,
I don’t think it’s a good idea to use one photo to start designing or recreating a hull. You need at least the 3 views (profile, section and plan) to see how is the shape of the hull and the superstructure. If you have the lines plan it is far better and easier to start with.
FRom the photo it seems to me that the ship is a BATRAL class (French) Landing Craft. Is that correct??
Best regards
Sergio
