ParticipantHi there,
could anyone give a tip what is the best tool to enlarge a circle?
Let’s say f.e. if I need to model a kind of “washer” or give thickness to a cylinder/ pipe?
The extruding tool doesn’t seem to be useful!?
Thanks ๐

ParticipantHi Adriano,
Iยดm afraid you are right. Extrusions are defined linearly and in whatever combinations of x, y and z directions only. What would be needed here is to have a special kind of “offset-extrusion” commnad where one can select a curved edge and make an offset to extrude it (create faces) at 90ยฐ (spatial 3D) from original curved edge.
What I think you could do instead is to create another cylinder with same center and a defined radius to account for the thickness and then close the edges to create the solid pipe. More man hours of tedious clicking, but it will work.
Regards,
Sergio.- -

ParticipantHi Sergio,
Thanks for yr comments.
Yes, I was afraid that building another cylinder around ๐ is the only main option left.
