ParticipantI have modeled a boat that I would like to build with the stitch and glue method.
The unfold tool can create the various parts that I will need to cut from plywood with my CNC machine that I will stitch back together in the boat shape.
The problem is that I can’t find a way to export the unfolded output into any other format than jpg. I would need them in a vector format that I can manipulate to prepare for toolpathing, etc… The DXF option is grayed out. I am assuming that this option is not available in the free version?

ParticipantHi, in the downfold “Save”dialog box you can choose “export” – 3D curves – 3D mesh – .STL file
That’s all currently in the free version…
No clues why why your option is greyed, maybe some bug in your file – not necessarily: could be a wrong setting.
Some samples:Beware on export 3D meshes – just a layer ( part of the hull) at once, better Not symmetric (adjust layer props. temporarily) otherwise the result could be a horrible mess!
Let us know if it works.

ParticipantThere were two more files but I forgot the site’s policy: too much space!!!
Apologize Mr. adm.

ParticipantThe only save option that is available from the “unfold” tool is to save the image (as a .jpg).
I have tried exporting the model from the projects “save” dropdown menu. When I do that I get a 3D output rather than the 2D unfolded output that I need to cut the parts from plywood.
Does the paid version allow for saving the unfolded shapes in vector formats?

ParticipantThe paid version does allow saving the unfolded shapes as shown.
Maybe that is the answer?
I do not use the free version.Could you post the file?
Perhaps someone will confirm if it is your file or not, which is giving the problem.Regards Tim

ParticipantThis is the file I am playing with. I can unfold the pieces as layers into a jpeg (attached).
On a separate topic. Any ideas on how to model some “stations” into it? I am thinking of the support ribs, seats and the transom?
This program is fun! I am still very much in the learning phase though.
