disappearing control points

I think while playing with the Export Parts function I have inadvertently deleted the control points.This has left the control net with no way of adjusting anything in future.Is this situation retrievable/reversible or is the model now kaput.I have saved the file the an external drive and the only thing I can think of doing is to import file as a background image and starting again 🙁 The parts of the project affected will allow me to create control points but as soon as I carry out another function they disappear
parts of the help menu were not functioning properly.Could I uninstall Delft ship,re download program and import external file.Would this make a difference?
Any thoughts much appreciated
