      Since I updated to Delft 7.17 free, problems with the numerical data between Unfold and exported stations appear. If I put a bulkhead (made of “Stations” data) on its place, the height will not fit to the hull (made of “Unfold” data). The hull has a simple multichine cross section.
      Then I made a test with a simple straight box beam, and after executed it in “Unfold”, curved lines appear, where straight lines are expected (see attachement).
      Does anyone made the same experiences, and/or may can help me?

      To visualize my problems with UNFOLD again, here annother test body attached. All sides are straight, only is bottom is rounded, The UNFOLD fits in no way to the original object. It will be great to get any comment.

      The surface is not developable because it is curved in 2 planes, the software does its best to stretch it to shape. You could either make the curved side part of a cone and intersect the sides and bottom plate or else make the side from 4 parts, If I have time I will demonstrate a model.

      Thank you for your explanation. You are right, but I was irritated of the little stress shown in the ‘develople view’. Please don’t waste your time for a demonstration model, I have understood the problem:

      But this was only a test body. My main problem is, as I wrote in the beginning of the thread, that the hull sides of my simple box hull do not fit to the exported bulkheads. I measured at some aproximate positions the height of the developed hull and compared it to the data of the exported bulkheads – there are “big” differences (they appear in reality too). Could it be the same effect as above? And if it is, how it is possible to design a developable multichine hull? May you can have a look at the attached hull file?

      I have opened your model, exported a dxf lines plan and also a dxf unfolded plate development, see attached. The plate widths and frame lengths seem to correspond?

      Thank you for your effort.
      Sorrily I can not open your file in AutoCAD, but I have exported the bulkheads as DXF and measured the length of the frame sides. Indeed there are now only small differences (1-2 mm) between these and the approxmately measured positions in the UNFOLD-view. I don’t no what’s happened at the first cut outs :blush: . But now work goes on.

      Nevertheless I have to buy the Pro-Version of Delft for the possibility to export the unfold files to AutoCAD too. Only in this way, I think, I can really doublecheck the results. And I have realized not to overburden Delft, at least it’s no construction software, but I like it anyway 🙂
