ParticipantI am using the Pro version 4.38.130 on my laptop and recently created drawings will not export plate developments or 3D and 2D models to .dxf file to import into Autocad 2007. Autocad shows a message stating they are “Invalid or incomplete .dxf input”
There is no problem in exporting and importing the linesplan and “Mastership” model files.
I have checked on another computer running Version 4.18.90 and files created in this version export without a hitch.
Is this a known issue or have I hit the wrong button somewhere, in which case can I try reinstalling Version 4.38 to see if that would work or would I loose all existing files.
Any help would be most appreciated
Bob

KeymasterI have checked on another computer running Version 4.18.90 and files created in this version export without a hitch.
BobDid you try to export the same model on both computers?
If not, have a look at your layer names. Autocad will not accept spaces certain other characters in the layer names (and I don’t know why) -

ParticipantMany thanks for your usual fast response Marven, that was exactly the problem. I changed the layer names and voila!
Have a great day, I know I will now that you have come to my rescue.
Kind regards

KeymasterThanks Bob.
I’ve already implemented a check that automatically corrects layer names when exporting to DXF. Can you tell me what layer name you have used that was causing the trouble? That way I can prevent this from happening again….

ParticipantHi Marven:
The offending names where:
Lower Bottom Plate
Upper Bottom Plate
Topsides Plate
Sheer Plate
Lower transomI simply removed the spaces and they worked.
Best regards

KeymasterThanks Bob, I’ll make sure to adjust the export routines to automatically check for this.
