ParticipantHi All!
I am trying to model a small sailing yacht in Delftship and I have the followong problem:
I would like to achieve a nice blunt bow-keel junction (something like on a Laser, for example).
I already have made the bow and the keel round, but for some reason, where thes two are joined, I get a sharp edge on a short piece (see picture).
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
best regards,

ParticipantThank you for your quick reply.
I think it is the best if I send you the fbm file.

KeymasterSorry, it still isn’t clear to me.
Should the junction of the bow and bottom be a knuckle, or a hard point? -

ParticipantSorry, I didn’t put my question properly enough.
My problem is that although I have designed the waterlines to be blunt at the bow and the stations to be blunt at the keel, I still get a sharp edge on a short section where bow and keel meet.
How can this be avoided and the junction of bow and keel made to be blunt, too? Thanks in advance,

KeymasterLike this you mean?
I only connected the lower point of the forefoot the the one on the centerline, amd increased the beam of that point a little. [file name=PaugerBird_mod.fbm size=26440]http://www.delftship.net/delftship/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/files/PaugerBird_mod.fbm[/file]

ParticipantThank you very much, this is just what I wanted to achieve!
By the way, isn’t an irregular grid such a big problem after all?
I remember having trouble to import a hull to Rhino once (through iges), and as I found out the problem was caused by the irregular surfaces of the DelftShip model…
Thanks a lot, best regards:
Tamás
