      Hello
I begin with DELFTship and am having a little problem. I click on the blank page at the top left and the startup window opens normally but I can not change the value of length, width and depth. He values (12m, 3.7m and 0.5m) and I can not change them. I searched all the functions but I find nothing. Do you have an opinion on the reason for the blockage?
      Thank you for all

      Hello Serge,

Can you tell me which version of DELFTship you are using, and on what operating system? I’ve just tested here, and cannot reproduce the problem.

On my first test of the new version I went mad on the same issue, then I Typed >>enter<< after the figures change…
      It was an embarassing moment.
      Bye, Jurgen.

Me too Jurgen and it still drives me up the wall. Surely not tooo hard to change this to accepting TAB etc. as well as enter?

      Best Regards
      Bob

Unfortunately we did not develop the windows ribbons in house, and can’t modify this behaviour. If we could, we would (you’re not alone up that wall)
Taking these to a popup or other separate window would not help in accessibility.

Thank you Maarten for your explanation just a small quirk we will learn to live with.

I just installed the latest free version (7.14 (281)) on my Windows 7 64 bit system. Had the same problem trying to begin a new project. Using the Enter key allowed me to set the parameters as noted elsewhere. However, the Depth setting seemed to be stuck in meters even though I had selected feet. The result was a very deep template that translated over into the View window when I saved it. The grid confirmed that the upper line was up in the mid-forty-feet by grid. Interestingly, the load waterline was marked at 12 feet, so this looks like a true bug.

A screenshot of my New Project settings are included. I tried to include an image of the results, but it didn’t show up for some reason.

      Thanks

After thinking about it, I realized that the New Project model simply rescales to the new dimensions, but keeps everything else in proportion. Since this little boat had a very shallow draft, the freeboard had to rescale in proportion to the 12 foot draft I had assigned, so it ended up being about 45 feet tall! After manually lowering the control points in the z direction closer to the waterline, the dimensional grid resized as well.

The repositioned control points that look more like the 1891 merchant ship resulted in this:

I think I’m starting to get the hang of this. Step-by-step tutorials would be very helpful…
