      Hi,

I have just started to use Delftship and have created a reasonable hull shape. I now want to add a couple of half height bulkheads and a vertical face which will form part of a seat/side tank, but I am having trouble attaching the edges of these faces to the bottom face of the hull.

I have got them in place ok and they are not protruding through the hull, but as they are forming an edge rather than an interface with the bottom of the hull, I have leaks points on all the bottom edges.

Is there any way I can connect these edges to the lower hull face to lose the leak points? (I have looked at the leak points tutorial, but I don’t have double edges or any leak points on the centreplane).

      Many thanks,
      Dave K

Don’t connect them to the hull, because they will be included in the hydrostatics calculations if you do.

Instead move them to a separate layer which is exluded from the hydrostatics calculations. This will solve your leak points and in addition not mess up your hydrostatics results.

      Hi Marvin,

Many thanks for your quick response.

Wow that was easy, I was expecting to have to do a lot of rework! All I need to do now is understand what the hydrostatic reports are telling me!

Apologies Marven, I got your name wrong!
