ParticipantIt’s a 4,200 horsepower inland towboat, a well established design for brown water vessel of the like.
Awarded recently with “approval in principle” by ABS, the Conrad Shipyard – Louisiana – built and Shearer Group Inc. – Texas – designed vessel, incorporates two significant technologies: Wartsila dual fuel engines and z-drive, thus to reduce fuel consumption and enhance manoeuvrability.
I’ve posted it for the nice rendering, with blueprints on background – as we can do now with DS – and because I’m sensible to Wartsila’s mention: its main production center lays in my hometown and I’ve a bunch of friends employed there.
Have a nice day.

ParticipantOff Topic – for Maryak
What is your profile ship? One or our Aussie DDGs (PERTH, HOBART, BRISBANE)? I didn’t have enough involvement to give reliable recognition. Ours differed from the US CHARLES F ADAMS ships by having the twin Ikara installations early in their life. I did some DDG as built drawings in 1991.
