      Dear all

I understand the resistance calculations from Delftship are based on the Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series.
Is there an indication or a set of ranges for parameters that can be used to check if the resistance calculation for my model is correct?

      Cheers

The most accurate resistance prediction verification is always testing in nature. Towing tank tests come after that, and in general also produce “safe results”.

Since that is out of the question (I guess), one can either compare results of his calculation to a similar, already built boat, or trust the prediction method. Delft series are a trusted and used method for somewhat older yacht designs – it has also been “redone” a few times by different authors (regression has been redone, and therefore results vary a small amount) – but if your hull fits the design parameters of the series, you should be fine.

      Dear Idigas

Thank you for the clarification. You speak of the design parameters of the series. Where can I find those?

      Cheers
