The most easy way to achieve this is as follows:

  1. Translate the appropriate part of the keel line with half the total keel thickness in transverse direction. The easiest way is to select the edges and then use the “Transform” => “Move” command from the mainmeu.
  2. Then extrude the translated edges downwards. This creates the side of your keel.
  3. Shape the newly created edges so the keel has the correct profile in the side view. You can use various methods to obtain the correct shape.
  4. Finally the bottom edges of the keel should be selected (only the ones that are ot on the centerplane) and extruded to the centerline. Any edges which are not exactly on the centerline after the extrusion can be forced to the centerplane by scaling it with scalfactor 0.00 in the transverse direction.
  5. That should be it….
