Re:hull thickness deduction
Dear fvran,
I’ve already talked to Marven about a bulkhead tool. But since DelftShip is primary aimed at large ship construction where they use the existing outside dimensions for plating purposes, us small boat designers will have to take a back seat in the implimentations of construction tools. There is only one developer of DelftShip so all feature requests are purely based on priority. Marven assured me that it would be quite straight forward implimenting a bulkhead tool, that you could create openings within it etc. That would be fine by me, as I can use other software to reduce hull, deck and cabin side and top thickness to the bulkhead.
Or the alternative is, to impliment a tool where layer thicknesses are deducted that you included in the Layer Properties or simular.
Well, we are just going to have to wait until the next upgrade to find out if the bulkhead tool is included (in what ever form) but in the mean time like me there are alternative methods (work arounds).
All the best
Mike
