To answer the first part of your question:
The way stations are visualized on the plate developments differs from the way they are calculated in 3D. Apparently on the developments they coincide with the interior edges, which are drawn on top later in the drawing process. If you move all your stations 1 mm to the front you’ll notice them popping up again.
And the second part:
Try using rectanglar patches (faces with 4 points) and a regular topology of the grid. You seem to have used a lot of irregular points (points with either more or less than 4 faces connected to them) which really messes up the plate developments algorithm.
