I am avoiding to subdivide control net. After saving the project and closing it all “undo” possibilities are lost. I did that once, and when I realized that I don’t need so many control points, the only way (I believe) to get rid of unnecessary edges and points was to collapse them. After edges I collapsed control points too. You will see what to collapse first, its intuitive.
